Trent Alexander-Arnold is entering the final year of his contract with Liverpool, raising concerns among fans as the 25-year-old will soon be eligible to negotiate a pre-contract with clubs outside of England, starting from the New Year.
There are reports linking him with a potential free transfer to Real Madrid, a club that is highly regarded and where Alexander-Arnold has reportedly formed a good friendship with Jude Bellingham.
However, leaving Liverpool may not be straightforward. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool is planning to initiate contract talks with the full-back.
Romano stated, “They will have their chance to keep Trent at the club and extend his contract. Let’s see how the talks go.” He also confirmed that, although Real Madrid’s interest in Alexander-Arnold has been mentioned, there has been no recent or concrete development.
With Liverpool preparing to discuss new contract terms, there is optimism that an agreement can be reached.
Considering Alexander-Arnold has spent his entire career at Liverpool and continues to play a key role under new manager Arne Slot, there seems to be little reason for him to leave and risk his legacy at one of Europe’s most prestigious clubs.
