During the match, when the defender from Liverpool scored a goal from 20 yards away in the second half, Sky Sports awarded him the player of the match.

Although Liverpool dropped to third place post-match, many believed Jurgen Klopp’s team had earned a valuable point against their potential title rivals.

Alexander-Arnold made a “shushing” gesture towards the City crowd after his goal. When asked about it later, he simply responded with “funny.”

The Sun reported potential trouble for the Liverpool defender with the FA as he admitted planning the celebration in front of City fans, which is against the regulations. Actions seen as provocative or inflammatory toward fans can result in a yellow card for the player.

Referee Chris Kavanagh might not have noticed Alexander-Arnold’s celebration, as no call was made regarding it during the match.

The Sun suggested that if the FA takes any action, Alexander-Arnold might receive a warning about his conduct, as no specific punishment was suggested post the incident.

In a post-match interview with Sky Sports, the 25-year-old discussed the game itself, mentioning, “There have been instances where we’ve played better against City and lost. Honestly, getting a point here is crucial for us.”

He emphasized the significance of the result for the team, acknowledging City’s prowess as the reigning triple crown winners in the league.
