Former Bayern Munich manager Kovac has recently been rumored to be a potential successor to Klopp at Liverpool.

However, Kovac has denied these claims, stating that he hasn’t had any talks with Liverpool about the managerial role.

Despite being unemployed for a month since leaving Wolfsburg, Kovac insists there’s no truth to the reports linking him to Anfield.

His exit from Wolfsburg came after a tenure that extended into his second season, with Ralph Hasenhuttl taking over as his successor.

Kovac is best known for his time at Bayern Munich from 2018 to 2019. During his spell, Liverpool famously knocked Bayern out of the Champions League in the round of 16 on their way to winning their sixth European Cup.

Interestingly, Bayern achieved a memorable 7-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur just before Kovac left the Allianz Arena.

Before joining Bayern, Kovac had success with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he ended their 30-year wait for a trophy by winning the 2018 DFB-Pokal.

His final game in charge saw Frankfurt beat Bayern in the final, a significant accomplishment before his move to Bayern.

Kovac began his managerial career with Croatia’s Under-21 team in 2012 and moved up to the senior team from 2013 to 2015.

He notably coached Croatia at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, though they were knocked out in the group stage.

Meanwhile, Liverpool is still considering potential candidates for the managerial role, with reports suggesting they plan to interview three candidates before making a final decision.

Sporting CP’s Ruben Amorim is reportedly a top contender in the current selection process.
