Danish talent Chido Obi-Martin has reached a milestone in his budding football career by signing his first professional contract with Manchester United.

This achievement follows his October move from Arsenal, where he had already gained recognition as a prolific goal scorer.

Obi-Martin has quickly made an impact at United, delivering exceptional performances for the club’s Under-18 team.

The young striker has scored four goals in four matches, including a stunning hat-trick against Nottingham Forest.

These impressive early displays reflect the potential he demonstrated at Arsenal, where he recorded an astonishing 32 goals and three assists in just 21 matches for their Under-18 side.

Despite Arsenal’s efforts to keep him, Obi-Martin opted for a new challenge at United, a decision that is already yielding results.

Since arriving at Manchester United’s Carrington training facility, Obi-Martin has made rapid strides, earning a professional contract that makes him eligible for first-team selection.

His rise comes at a time when United’s senior forwards, including Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Højlund, have struggled for consistency.

This could create an opportunity for the 17-year-old to enter Rúben Amorim’s plans for the senior squad.

United’s Under-18 team has been dominant this season, leading the league with a perfect record of nine wins from nine matches.

They’ve scored an impressive 43 goals while conceding just four, showcasing their strength and depth.

After a convincing 3-0 victory over Everton, the team is set to face Stoke City, with Obi-Martin likely to play a key role as he looks to extend his scoring streak.

Meanwhile, senior striker Højlund is beginning to find his rhythm, recently scoring twice against Bodø/Glimt.

Competition for the striker position is intensifying, fueled by rumors of United targeting Sporting Lisbon forward Viktor Gyökeres, a player well-known to Amorim.

Despite the growing competition, Obi-Martin’s outstanding performances at the youth level are hard to ignore.

If he continues his fine form, particularly in the match against Stoke City, he could edge closer to a senior debut.

Obi-Martin’s rapid progress and undeniable talent position him as one of Manchester United’s most promising young players, with the potential to become a key figure for the club in the future.
