Rúben Amorim finally reveals the Manchester United player at the center of his struggles.

Manchester United’s chaotic season has taken another dramatic twist, with manager Rúben Amorim finally breaking his silence on the crisis surrounding the club.

Instead of blaming his tactics, the board, or even Bruno Fernandes — who has faced heavy criticism this season — Amorim admitted that his biggest mistake at Old Trafford was blocking the sale of goalkeeper Altay Bayındır last summer.

Signed from Fenerbahçe to compete with André Onana, Bayındır has instead become a major source of tension.

Amorim revealed that the Turkish keeper has failed to deliver on expectations and has even caused unrest in the dressing room, clashing with his methods and voicing frustration about the team’s tactics.

What makes it worse for Amorim is that he personally pushed to keep Bayındır when the board was ready to sell, believing the 26-year-old could still thrive under his guidance. Now, that decision has backfired, leaving him feeling betrayed and increasingly isolated.

For months, Fernandes had carried most of the blame, but Amorim’s admission has now shifted the spotlight onto Bayındır.

Reports suggest divisions are growing, with some fans accusing the keeper of undermining the club while others see him as Amorim’s scapegoat.

The fallout could be decisive. If Amorim survives the pressure, Bayındır may be shown the door. But if the board backs the player instead, Amorim’s tenure could end sooner than expected.

With INEOS reviewing United’s structure and names like Zidane, Flick, and Xavi linked to the job, the manager’s future looks more uncertain than ever.

Amorim summed it up himself: his greatest challenge at United isn’t his tactics, his captain, or the boardroom — but the player he once defended, who has now become the face of his struggles.
