The Basque player is stepping back after previously agreeing to join the English club two weeks ago. Real Sociedad’s efforts to convince him to stay have been successful.”
While it’s wise to wait for further confirmation from other sources, if true, this would be a significant setback for Liverpool.
Over the past week, it seemed like the Reds were finally making progress in strengthening Arne Slot’s squad, with no new signings yet for the new head coach this summer.
However, the efforts of Richard Hughes and his team now appear to have been in vain.
