Manchester United fans expressed their frustration with Erik ten Hag after a controversial decision during the match against Liverpool at Old Trafford.
With United trailing 3-0, Ten Hag substituted Alejandro Garnacho for Amad, a move that was met with loud boos from the home crowd.
Although none of the United players performed well that afternoon, it was clear the fans believed Garnacho deserved to stay on the pitch, possibly wanting Marcus Rashford to be taken off instead.
Rashford struggled throughout the match and failed to challenge Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson.
Commentator Gary Neville noted, “United fans don’t often boo managers, substitutions, or players individually. But today, there have been a couple—Casemiro in the first half and then Rashford.”
While it’s unusual for United supporters to turn on their team like this, their frustration was understandable.
The team had been thoroughly outplayed by their rivals, with Luis Diaz scoring twice in the first half due to Casemiro’s errors.
Mohamed Salah then sealed Liverpool’s victory early in the second half. United’s best chance came from a Joshua Zirkzee header, but it was well saved by Alisson.
