FERDINAND BLAMES UNITED STAR AFTER OLD TRAFFORD LOSS – AMORIM WARNED OF TROPHYLESS SEASON

BREAKING NEWS: Just one game into the new Premier League campaign, and Manchester United are already in turmoil.

A narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford has sparked outrage among supporters — and club legend Rio Ferdinand has delivered a brutal verdict.

His warning? If things don’t change fast, Ruben Amorim could be staring at another trophyless season.

Speaking after the match, Ferdinand made his feelings clear:

“I can sense Amorim’s dismissal coming. How can a manager with a winning mentality continue to back a player like this? United will end up empty-handed again if nothing changes.”

The player in question? Manuel Ugarte.

The Uruguayan midfielder, brought in to add steel to United’s engine room, was singled out after a poor display.

Against Arsenal, Ugarte repeatedly lost possession, failed to shield the defense, and looked overwhelmed in midfield.

For Ferdinand, those shortcomings are unacceptable at a club that aspires to challenge for silverware.

“This isn’t PSG or Sporting anymore,” Ferdinand said bluntly. “The Premier League is ruthless.

If you’re the one anchoring United’s midfield, you can’t be anonymous at Old Trafford. Ugarte looks out of his depth, and Amorim risks paying the price if he continues to rely on him.”

The remarks split opinion among fans. Some echoed Ferdinand’s view, branding Ugarte a “panic signing” unfit for United’s level.

Others argued the midfielder deserves patience to adapt, pointing instead to Amorim’s tactical setup as the real issue.

But Ferdinand insists patience is a luxury United cannot afford. With rivals like Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal already firing, he believes Amorim must act decisively. “You don’t win trophies carrying players who can’t deliver. If Ugarte slows United down, Amorim has to be ruthless.”

The opening-day defeat has already placed Amorim under pressure, leaving fans wondering if he’ll back his under-fire midfielder or make a bold call to silence the growing criticism.

For Ferdinand, though, the conclusion is simple: stick with Ugarte, and United’s season could unravel before it even begins.
