O’Reilly started the season playing at left-back under Pep Guardiola, but in recent weeks he has moved into a more advanced midfield role. The Academy graduate said he is really enjoying playing in the centre of the pitch, especially alongside 2024 Ballon d’Or winner Rodri.
“Rodri is incredible. Everything he does is so smooth and simple,” he said after the match. “It’s a privilege to play next to him. Training and playing alongside him every day helps me improve so much.”
