Liverpool have officially announced that another player will be spending this season away from Anfield.
Following the permanent departures of Fabio Carvalho, Sepp Van den Berg, and Joel Matip, Owen Beck is the latest to exit Arne Slot’s squad, though his move is temporary.
The 22-year-old has joined Blackburn Rovers on a season-long loan, according to Liverpool’s official X account.
Beck, who played in two of Liverpool’s pre-season friendlies against Real Betis and Arsenal in the USA, has found himself behind Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas in the squad.
As a result, the decision was made to allow him to gain experience elsewhere.
The Wrexham-born defender, who joined Liverpool’s Academy from Stoke City at age 13, made his professional debut for the Reds in a 2-0 League Cup win over Preston in October 2021.
With two more appearances for the club, he now hopes to impress at Ewood Park, following in the footsteps of Harvey Elliott and Tyler Morton.
Beck’s current contract with Liverpool runs until 2026.
