Journalist Ian Doyle of the Liverpool Echo reports that Salah is expected to leave, with Saudi Arabia as a probable destination.
Doyle notes that despite Salah’s excellent form, his age (33 next summer) and the physical demands of the Premier League suggest that Liverpool is already planning for a future without him.
The club’s search for a wide forward this summer indicates they are preparing for Salah’s eventual exit, even though a contract extension isn’t out of the question.
Salah’s potential departure will be hard for Liverpool fans to accept, given his significant contributions to their Premier League and Champions League victories.
As such, Liverpool must start planning to replace the prolific goal scorer, though finding someone as talented and effective as Salah will be challenging.
Additionally, Virgil Van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are also in the final year of their contracts, with the club seemingly more focused on extending their contracts than Salah’s.
