With his tenure at Anfield spanning a third of his life, the 27-year-old may be looking for a new challenge, especially if regular playing time isn’t assured.
Despite this, Gomez remains a valuable squad member due to his versatility, having played in every defensive position last season amid numerous injuries.
He also brings significant experience from his 224 appearances for Liverpool, and new manager Arne Slot may rely on him as a senior figure in the team.
Given his solid performances last season, Liverpool would prefer to retain Gomez as a reliable squad player rather than see him join another club.
