Reports suggest Liverpool are leading the race to sign him, with a €135 million (£114 million) bid on the table. While Newcastle are still hoping to retain him, they are aware of Liverpool’s serious interest.
Isak has been in excellent form this season, helping Newcastle win the League Cup and keeping them in the hunt for a top-four finish.
In 26 Premier League appearances, he has scored 20 goals and provided 5 assists, bringing his total tally to 24 goals and 5 assists in all competitions.
If Liverpool secures Isak, it would be a significant statement of intent. However, if the club truly aims for high ambitions, they must ensure Salah’s departure doesn’t happen, even if they are pursuing a player like Isak.
