Liverpool are reportedly working on signing Porto midfielder Alan Varela.
According to journalist Luis Fregossi from Mundo Boca Radio, the Reds have made a formal offer for the 23-year-old defensive midfielder, and the Argentine international is expected to join the club before the transfer window closes.
Liverpool has been pursuing Varela for some time, having first inquired about him in April. Varela is highly regarded across Europe and could be a valuable addition to Liverpool’s squad.
