According to Sky Germany, Jurgen Klopp has signed a new contract with Red Bull to take on the role of Global Head of Soccer.
The German coach left Liverpool at the end of last season after a successful tenure in the Premier League.
During his nine years with Liverpool, Klopp led the club to victories in both the Premier League and Champions League.
Although Klopp initially left Liverpool to take a break from football, he has now agreed to start a new role in 2025, though in a different capacity than his previous positions.
Since leaving Liverpool, he has been linked to several roles, including the Germany national team position.
Reports also suggest that his contract with Red Bull includes a clause allowing him to leave for the Germany job in the future.
As part of his new position, Klopp will oversee the Red Bull football teams and play a key role in their decision-making.
He will serve as an advisor on coaching, management, player development, and recruitment for Red Bull’s football clubs, including RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, New York Red Bulls, and Red Bull Bragantino.
Taking on this new role, Klopp’s extensive experience in the game makes him an ideal fit, but it will also be a challenge as it differs significantly from his previous managerial roles.
The length of Klopp’s contract is still unclear, but he retains the option to return to management if he chooses.
It seems increasingly likely that Klopp may take the Germany manager role in the future, rather than returning to club football.
This new position will also give Klopp the chance to work again with Pep Lijnders, his former Liverpool assistant, who now coaches Red Bull Salzburg.
