Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was critical of Mohamed Salah’s performance in Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Despite dominating possession, passing accuracy, and shots on target, Liverpool couldn’t convert their chances and fell to a goal from Palace’s Eberechi Eze at Anfield.
Both teams had their opportunities, with Palace’s goalkeeper Dean Henderson making key saves to thwart Liverpool’s attacks.
However, Salah, usually a standout for Liverpool, struggled to make an impact, leading to criticism from Carragher and fans.
Carragher pointed out Salah’s dip in form since returning from injury at AFCON 2024, stating, “Mo Salah hasn’t been at his best for a few weeks now.”
Adding to Liverpool’s woes, young right-back Conor Bradley was injured and had to be substituted, disrupting their flow.
Trent Alexander-Arnold came on for Bradley, and Liverpool’s defensive stability was momentarily shaken, contributing to their difficulties against Palace’s strong defense.
Despite Liverpool’s dominance in possession, pass accuracy, and shots on target, they couldn’t find the net, highlighting the importance of clinical finishing.
As the title race heats up, Liverpool will need to improve their attacking efficiency to keep their silverware hopes alive.
Liverpool had the edge in possession (70%), pass accuracy (83%–68%), and shots on target (6–5), but failed to score.
