Erling Haaland’s agent has emphatically stated that the striker is “1,000%” committed to Manchester City, dismissing ongoing rumors of a move to Real Madrid.
Since joining City in 2022, Haaland has significantly impacted the club, helping them win two Premier League titles and a Champions League, contributing to a historic treble in his debut season. Despite being just 23, he has already played for five different clubs in his senior career.
Rafaela Pimenta, who took over as Haaland’s agent after Mino Raiola’s passing in 2022, is known for including release clauses in player contracts.
She has emphasized that only Haaland’s camp and Manchester City are aware of the specifics of his release clause, suggesting that while a future transfer isn’t out of the question, it isn’t a current consideration.
In an interview with Flashscore, Pimenta discussed Haaland’s commitment and future, saying, “I don’t know if he will settle into being a one-club man, but I think the Erling Haaland project is one that will last over the next few years.”
She added that Haaland feels very much at home at City, stating, “He is 1,000% committed to the City project and is already looking forward to the new season with the club.”
Pimenta also commented on Haaland’s value, suggesting he is worth more than €1 billion (£850 million) due to his age, potential, and economic impact.
She clarified, “When I said that this amount corresponded to ‘his value’, I wasn’t talking about his ‘transfer value’. I was referring to the value of a top player at that age, with enormous room for improvement.
And when I said that, he hadn’t even done the treble – a player who finished as top scorer in the Premier League despite being injured for two months…”
She further noted Haaland’s marketability and off-field value, highlighting his strong work ethic, focus, and lack of controversies. “He’s been at Manchester City for two years now and there’s never been any gossip about him.
His profile represents a huge value in the eyes of sponsors and clubs, as well as in terms of shirt sales and media exposure.
And all that, put together: ticket sales, TV rights, everything Erling will earn over the course of his career, I’m convinced it will exceed a billion.”
Haaland’s current contract with City runs until 2027. When asked about extending his contract, Haaland was positive but non-committal. “I’ve had two fantastic years and have three years left.
That’s really all I can say,” he told Norway’s TV2 earlier this month, reinforcing the sentiment that he is focused on his successful journey with City and not planning any immediate departure.
