Arsenal, Manchester United, and Manchester City are reportedly monitoring the uncertain situation surrounding Dani Olmo, whose temporary registration with Barcelona is set to expire at the end of this month.
Olmo was initially registered as a replacement following Andreas Christensen’s injury, but his registration will lapse on December 31, and Barcelona currently lacks the financial resources to renew it.
Barcelona’s attempt to extend Olmo’s registration by challenging La Liga’s financial regulations in court was unsuccessful.
The court upheld the league’s rules, emphasizing that emergency registrations should not allow clubs to exceed salary limits.
Compounding the issue, Olmo’s contract reportedly includes a clause permitting him to leave on a free transfer if Barcelona fails to re-register him.
According to *The Times*, interest in Olmo is growing, with Arsenal, Manchester City, and Manchester United closely monitoring the situation.
Barcelona, however, remains determined to keep Olmo and is exploring ways to resolve the matter.
This includes appealing the court’s decision and seeking new sponsorship deals or investments to secure the funds needed for his registration.
For now, Olmo remains unable to play for Barcelona, including their Copa del Rey fixture against Barbastro on January 4, as the club works to resolve the financial and administrative hurdles.
