Liverpool Facing Key Absences for PSG Clash
Liverpool will be without at least four players when they travel to face Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night. Despite having no fixtures over the weekend, their list of unavailable players has continued to grow.
Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton remain sidelined long-term after undergoing surgery for hamstring and shoulder injuries, respectively.
Conor Bradley is also set to miss several weeks following a hamstring injury sustained against Aston Villa last month.
Additionally, Amara Nallo will be absent for the Champions League round-of-16 clash due to suspension after receiving a red card during his debut against PSV Eindhoven in January.
However, his limited first-team involvement means his absence is unlikely to impact Arne Slot’s selection.
Liverpool also face potential disciplinary issues, with four players— Ibrahima Konaté, Andy Robertson, Harvey Elliott, and Alexis Mac Allister—one booking away from suspension for the second leg at Anfield. Mac Allister, who has already served a suspension in the tournament, would receive another ban if he collects a fourth yellow card.
With yellow cards in effect until the quarter-finals are completed, these players must navigate the next four matches carefully.
Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch, Luis Díaz, Kostas Tsimikas, and Darwin Núñez have each received one booking and would face suspension if they pick up two more.
Despite these concerns, Arne Slot and assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff will be on the touchline in Paris. While both are serving a two-game Premier League ban for their conduct during last month’s controversial 2-2 draw against Everton, they remain eligible to manage in the Champions League.
