Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah are nearing the end of their contracts at Liverpool, with their futures still unresolved.

As they approach the final six months of their deals, no new agreements have been reached, leaving their status at the club uncertain.

Reports suggest Real Madrid has shown interest in Alexander-Arnold, allegedly making an approach before the transfer window opened, which Liverpool rejected.

However, new claims indicate Madrid is willing to offer £20 million to secure the right-back this month instead of waiting until the summer.

While Liverpool is unlikely to let key players leave during a title race, there is still a possibility that Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, and Salah could leave as free agents in a few months.

Salah’s Contract Standoff

Mohamed Salah has been the most outspoken about his contract situation, recently admitting that talks with Liverpool have stalled, saying there has been “no progress.”

Despite his stellar form this season, with 21 goals and 17 assists, doubts remain about his future at the club.

Former player Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has criticized Liverpool’s handling of Salah’s contract, suggesting they should consider letting him go due to his age.

“If I were Liverpool’s owner, I’d let Salah leave because of his age,” Hasselbaink said. “He’s turning 33 and demanding a three-year deal, which doesn’t align with the wages he’s seeking.”

Hasselbaink also blamed Liverpool for allowing the situation to escalate, arguing the issue should have been resolved earlier.

Meanwhile, reports hint at a potential two-year extension for Salah, though unresolved matters, such as image rights, have delayed the process.

However, there is hope that a deal can be finalized, offering a much-needed boost to Liverpool’s long-term plans.

Focus on Team Over Speculation

Amid the uncertainty, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has stressed his focus on the team’s performance rather than off-field speculation.

“If something is bothering the players, they know they can talk to me,” Slot said. “Our priority is improving on the pitch, not external rumors.”

With the futures of three crucial players hanging in the balance, Liverpool faces the challenge of securing new contracts or risking significant departures on free transfers.
