Dani Olmo has addressed the speculation regarding his club future amidst reports linking him with Liverpool and other clubs.
The RB Leipzig forward, currently focused on Spain’s Euro 2024 final against England, briefly commented on the transfer rumors.
Olmo’s €60m (£50.5m) release clause, which was set to expire soon, has now been extended to July 20.
Speaking to Spanish radio show El Larguero, he mentioned that interested clubs “already know what to do” and confirmed it would be easier for clubs like Liverpool to sign him before the deadline, stating, “Otherwise they’ll have to fight a little later.”
While discussing his potential departure from Leipzig with Cadena SER, Olmo expressed that he’s not worried and is fully concentrating on the Euros, letting his representatives handle any offers.
Despite Arne Slot’s urgings for Liverpool to act swiftly, recent reports from The Mirror suggest that Liverpool may not move for Olmo before the release clause deadline.
Considering Olmo’s standout performances at Euro 2024, which have him in contention for the Golden Boot, Leipzig might increase his asking price after July 20.
If Liverpool intends to secure Olmo, they need to act quickly to avoid a higher price. Olmo’s immediate focus remains on the Euro final, and discussions about his club future will likely resume after the weekend, leaving his next destination uncertain.
