Barcelona is planning to tackle financial challenges by employing a strategy similar to their previous approach in securing Vitor Roque’s transfer, as reported by Fichajes.

In the negotiations with Atletico Paranense for Roque, Barcelona agreed on an initial payment of €30 million, with the potential for additional payments up to €61 million, contingent on specific conditions. For the initial amount, Barcelona chose to pay in instalments of €5 million every six months.

Now, the Catalan club aims to use this approach in their pursuit of Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva. This tactic underscores Barcelona’s determination to strengthen their squad while managing financial limitations.

Despite financial obstacles, Barcelona is committed to enhancing their squad this summer, with a particular focus on securing talented midfielders like Silva.

However, financial improvements are essential, requiring compliance with the 1/1 rule, which permits the reinvestment of all transfer earnings.

To achieve this, club president Joan Laporta is considering a strategy similar to Roque’s signing to ensure efficient financial management and cost distribution.

Regarding Silva, recent reports indicate his interest in joining Barcelona, demonstrating his willingness to make efforts from his end.

Barcelona’s pursuit hinges on their Financial Fair Play status, given Silva’s £50 million release clause agreed upon during his contract renewal with City last summer.

Yet, Barcelona’s ability to afford this amount upfront is uncertain. Therefore, the proposed strategy involving staggered payments, subject to City’s agreement, offers a potential solution.
