Xavi, Barcelona’s head coach, has outlined three crucial conditions for his continued tenure at the club, as reported by Fernando Polo of Mundo Deportivo.

Firstly, Xavi underscores the significance of Barcelona’s performance in the Champions League this season. He expects the team to either reach the final or secure victory in the tournament.

Additionally, he insists on Barcelona maintaining competitiveness in La Liga until the season’s end, placing the responsibility squarely on the squad rather than the club management.

Secondly, Xavi emphasizes the necessity for significant squad reinforcements to enhance team performance. He expresses frustration with the overreliance on young players, irrespective of their talent.

Hence, Xavi demands the acquisition of key players he has previously identified, including Martin Zubimendi, Joshua Kimmich, and Bernardo Silva, each valued at no less than €50 million.

Thirdly, Xavi seeks assurances that Barcelona can resolve their Financial Fair Play issues and register players promptly for the upcoming season.

He is dismayed by the club’s last-minute efforts to register a substantial portion of the squad’s salaries in La Liga, revealing financial limitations that impede squad development.

While Xavi’s demands are reasonable, meeting the second condition poses a significant challenge for Barcelona. The club’s financial constraints mean that signing players without offloading some first would weaken the squad, a scenario Xavi aims to avoid.

Despite these hurdles, Barcelona’s leadership remains optimistic about persuading Xavi to continue at the club by presenting long-term project plans.
