Pep Guardiola believes Matheus Nunes, a midfielder for Manchester City, needs to work on one facet of his game.

After having back surgery, the Spaniard missed City’s last two Premier League contests.

The City manager, who is 52 years old and back in his usual position, has commented on one player who will make his club debut this weekend.

Speaking at the most recent City presser prior to their upcoming Premier League matchup against West Ham United.

“With his physicality, we can play in the holding-midfielder, attacking-midfielder, and full-back positions,” he said.

He needs to improve his initial touch and contact. Try to play the ball like the unequaled Kevin De Bruyne. His vigor and the balls he has had recently in games as a winger. It’s quite difficult to find quality. For 10, 15, or 20 meters, dribble.

“As we train him, he will learn to be more precise in simple things.” It’s crucial that he has abilities that a manager cannot develop.

Nunes was acquired by the treble champions for £53 million from Wolves near the conclusion of the previous summer’s transfer window.

The 25-year-old might make his City debut in tomorrow’s game at the London Stadium after going unused in City’s 5-1 victory over Fulham earlier this month.

The midfielder, who is behind only three other Midlands club players in terms of needing to improve his first touch, mishandled the ball 41 times in his previous Premier League season with Wolves.

In the Premier League last season, only two City players handled the ball incorrectly more frequently than Nunes.

If the Portuguese international player can advance in this area of his game, the club will give him the chance to play and show what he is capable of and why they were right to sign him in the first place.
