X reacts as Andre Onana blunder gifts Brentford lead at Man Utd

At Manchester United, it never rains but always pours. Observers at Old Trafford are aware that monsoon season is in full swing when it rains thanks to years of neglect.

Physically speaking, it was a beautiful warm day on Saturday, which was their saving grace. However, their problems on the field persisted when Brentford came to town.

Their Premier League match got off to a quiet beginning. Brentford, after all, is also in bad shape and could use a win somewhere to stem the bleeding.

Before the Bees finally broke the tie, Aaron Hickey came close with two sighters in the early going.

When Casemiro attempted to dribble through midfield, he was surrounded by Brentford shirts and the ball was given to the guests.

When Yoane Wissa advanced into the area, Victor Lindelof appeared to blow the opportunity by intercepting a sloppy touch. However, the Swede unintentionally returned the ball to Casemiro and put it in Mathias Jensen’s path.

Andre Onana once again failed to keep United in the game by slowly climbing back over and failing to stop the Dane’s weak and center shot, which somehow ended up rolling over the line and reaching the back of the net.

1-0 Brentford. Onana should save that. #mufc

Oh no Onana.

— Miguel Delaney (@MiguelDelaney) October 7, 2023

Onana must have the weakest wrists in the Prem….what's he doing with his spare time?

— Mark Goldbridge (@markgoldbridge) October 7, 2023

Feel like every game I’m pointing out an Onana mistake, he needs to fix up man

After Onana performed poorly in Tuesday’s loss to Galatasaray, Erik ten Hag exhibited confidence in his summer signing, but the Cameroonian is probably out of goodwill at this point.

Lol as much as I want to laugh at Onana.. He's not even the problem, something is not just right at Man United atm. Ten Hag has questions to answer

Given that United had numerous opportunities to clear their lines before Jensen even got his shot off, Onana wasn’t the only one to fault.

Another howler from Onana but we shouldn't be getting to that point, beyond pathetic from Casemiro and Lindelof again.

How does United resolve this issue then? Should they call David de Gea, a free agent?

You can criticise Onana’s form without lying to yourself about De Gea btw

— Casey Evans (@Casey_Evans_) October 7, 2023

Onana is so bad that he makes Man United fans miss De Gea https://t.co/GSh4dRWHHj

— Troll Football (@TrollFootball) October 7, 2023

As bad as Onana is, don’t come here and lie say De Gea didn’t need to be upgraded.

Two things can be true.’

— . (@tsnmknd) October 7, 2023

Just saw the goal, forget everything I said about De Gea. He should've stayed.

— 2 Cold Scorpio (@Ic3Evaa) October 7, 2023

And yet it didn’t matter in the end.

In fact, without Onana’s mistake, United wouldn’t have enjoyed their late comeback courtesy of a brace from Scott McTominay.

Ride this wave now, please. Make the right selections, back Onana, get some results
