With two goals from Mohamed Salah and a comfortable win over Brentford at Anfield, Liverpool shot up to joint-top of the Premier League rankings. Salah once again demonstrated his ability to score goals, netting one either side of halftime. Diogo Jota’s late third goal cemented the victory.
In the 39th minute, Salah broke the tie by taking advantage of Darwin Nunez’s pass. With Kostas Tsitmikas attempting to keep the ball in play on the byline, Salah scored his second goal with a deft nudge into the corner.
Brentford made sporadic threats, but Alisson and Virgil van Dijk held strong and prevented the visitors from making any progress. Jota sealed Liverpool’s commanding lead in the league late in the game with a fantastic curling finish, adding to Brentford’s misery.
