Rumor has it that Manchester City may choose not to keep Kein De Bruyne on as an Etihad player.
Due to a thigh injury, De Bruyne hasn’t featured for Pep Guardiola’s team since the opening day of the campaign. It’s unlikely that the 31-year-old will play again before the New Year.
City is adjusting to the Belgian’s absence despite suffering back-to-back Premier League defeats to Wolves and Arsenal.
Thanks to goals from Julian Alarez and Erling Haaland, the defending champions defeated Brighton 2-1 on Saturday to reclaim their place in the first tier.
Undoubtedly, De Bruyne’s inventiveness has been missed, but it looks like the midfielder’s time at the Etihad may be coming to an end if the club decides not to renew his contract.
As to Football Insider, “there are concerns about the increasing nuмʄer of injury prōleмs De Bruyne is suffering in recent seasons,” they have stated.
In 49 games last season, De Bruyne led 31 assists and scored 10 goals for City in their triple-winning campaign.
Although the former Chelsea and Wolfsburg midfielder has made a name for himself as one of the Premier League’s best players, he would not be short of offers should City choose to sever relations.
