The Belgian international and former Chelsea player Eden Hazard has shared details about his life after quitting from sports, calling it “perfect.” Even though he is content with his current circumstances, he hasn’t completely ruled out the prospect of returning to the sport in the future.

Hazard had a successful seven-year tenure at Chelsea, winning the FA Cup, League Cup, and two Premier League championships between his notable accomplishments. After winning the PFA Young Player of the Year award the year before, he was recognized as the PFA Player of the Year in 2015.

Hazard left Stamford Bridge in 2019 in a club-record deal to join Real Madrid, but his stint in Spain didn’t go as expected. His La Liga appearances were restricted due to frequent injuries and conditioning issues, and he didn’t play much in the 2022–2023 season.

Hazard scored 110 goals in his Chelsea career, with half of those goals coming in his last three years as a Blue. On the other hand, he only scored seven goals throughout his time in Spain, where he mostly played as a little part.

Hazard had the chance to sign with a new team after his Real Madrid contract ended in the summer, but he declined many offers. At the age of 32, he formally retired in October.

Didier Drogba, the event host, questioned Hazard about his retirement and future intentions after Hazard handed the Kopa Trophy during the Ballon d’Or 2023 ceremony. He was very open about the fact that he is currently content with his family life and his pursuit of interests other than football. Even if he doesn’t miss playing right now, he hasn’t ruled out the chance of going back.

Hazard stated that he was happy with his choice and that he no longer enjoyed practicing and competing. He ended by talking about his involvement in a number of other activities and his continued love in watching football on television.

In the international arena, Hazard was instrumental in Belgium’s third-place performance at the 2018 World Cup. The squad lost to France in the semifinals by a small margin before triumphing against England in the play-off for third place, where Hazard scored.
