After Andy Robertson became ill and Kostas Tsimikas took over at left-back, the player freely admitted that his recent play hadn’t been up to par. Tsimikas has been under fire since the international break in October due to a mistake that resulted in a goal in the team’s most recent loss to Toulouse, placing him in an unanticipated position.

Tsimikas was given the starting left back position again against Brentford in spite of the difficulties, and he responded forcefully this time, providing two assists in Liverpool’s 3-0 triumph. Mo Salah received the first assist from a skillfully placed cross that set him up for a header.

The 27-year-old Greek defender opened up about the psychological toll of his recent setbacks in a post-match interview with LFCTV, stressing that this was a first for him in his career. Tsimikas’s confidence and desire to make a positive impact on the squad were rekindled after his two assists against Brentford.

“It’s beyond description. “In all these years, with the teams I’ve had, it’s not the best football I’ve played,” he remarked. I constantly strive to perform, and with this series of games, it was something that had never happened to me.

Thus, it was an experience that I had never had before. I just wanted to concentrate and believe that I’m a skilled enough player to be in this position and that my error against Toulouse was an isolated incident that had no bearing on me. That’s what I demonstrated.

Thankfully, the No. 21 went on to show that those two assists were a significant lift, which might be encouraging for the rest of his stay with the team.

Tsimikas grinned and said, “This was one of the best performances.”

“I was really motivated to play well, support the team, and secure the three points.”

Since the prior games weren’t the finest ones I’ve played with the squad, it was crucial for me.

“I needed only a little time, one helping hand, to light a fire inside of me. That truly makes me happy.

The similar opinion was expressed by Jurgen Klopp in his own post-match comments, as it was evident that Tsimikas was suffering from his own mishandled performances.

In his news conference, he stated, “Kostas Tsimikas, for example, we all could see the difference between Kosti before the assists and after the assists.”

“That’s life, that’s football.” Receiving favorable feedback is beneficial, and receiving an aid is undoubtedly excellent feedback.

You might see it, Klopp continued in an interview with BBC Sport. When Kostas sets himself up for the goal and receives the assist, you could see his chest opening up and he realized that it was football once more.

You need opportunities to overcome the kinds of problems you have to. After obtaining them, he put them to good use.
