One Manchester United player received praise for his outstanding performance in the first half against Fulham.

Andre Onana’s exceptional goalkeeping skills prevented Manchester United from falling behind in their Premier League encounter with Fulham on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag’s team narrowly escaped going behind, with United often feeling apprehensive when facing Fulham.

The opening 45 minutes at Old Trafford were tense and nerve-wracking, resembling a never-ending thriller for the home fans.

However, Andre Onana’s remarkable saves prevented further damage, showcasing his improvement since his move from Inter Milan to Manchester for £47 million last summer, particularly in shot-stopping.

Ten Hag relied on Onana to replicate the heroics of David de Gea in 2016 against Liverpool and Aston Villa. Once again, Onana rose to the occasion as Fulham dominated proceedings and created numerous scoring opportunities before halftime.

BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone lauded Onana’s performance, stating, “Andre Onana made another excellent save. Manchester United are very fortunate not to be trailing,” highlighting the Cameroonian goalkeeper’s crucial contributions.

Fulham displayed purposeful and effective attacking play throughout the first half, emphasizing the challenge facing Manchester United and their new co-owner and CEO, Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Ratcliffe openly acknowledged the considerable gap between United and their Premier League rivals at the top, despite their recent string of victories.

While United enjoyed a successful run of wins, their performances lacked efficiency, evident in their narrow victories over Aston Villa and Luton Town.

Onana particularly stood out in the match against Aston Villa, showcasing his importance to the team’s defensive stability and highlighting his role in securing crucial points for Manchester United.
