Liverpool remains the only Premier League team yet to make a signing this summer. The club has historically managed its transfers with caution, and this summer is no different.

Despite the appointment of new manager Arne Slot, who was expected to bring in players aligning with his style, Slot has chosen to rely on the existing squad instead of spending heavily on new signings.

Although Liverpool has been linked with Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon, the likelihood of securing his transfer diminishes as the new season approaches.

Journalist Nizaar Kinsella from the BBC explains Liverpool’s careful approach this summer.

He notes that the club is determined not to disrupt the well-balanced squad built under Klopp and aims to only sign players who can genuinely enhance the team, even if such players are rare.

Liverpool’s transfer strategy, managed by Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes, prioritizes sensible and strategic decisions over reactive spending.

While fans might expect new additions before the transfer window closes, any potential signings will be made to improve the squad rather than as a response to pressure from rival clubs’ activities.
