At the conclusion of their Premier League match, the controversial decision left both Liverpool and Manchester City supporters dissatisfied.

With Sunday’s exciting 1-1 draw between Liverpool and City at Anfield, the Premier League title race remains undecided.

Midway through a well-executed corner routine, John Stones poked home at the near post to give City the lead after Nathan Ake created space by denying Alexis Mac Allister.

Within five minutes, Jurgen Klopp’s team leveled the score, with Mac Allister converting a penalty kick after Ederson tripped Darwin Nunez in a one-on-one situation.

Despite Liverpool’s dominance in the second half, City nearly snatched victory when substitute Jeremy Doku hit the post.

Kevin De Bruyne’s frustration upon being substituted by Pep Guardiola in the second half epitomized City’s nervousness.

Liverpool believed they should have been awarded another penalty late in injury time, but the decision could have been worse.

In the 99th minute, Doku’s attempted clearance inadvertently caught Mac Allister in the rib cage with a high foot, leading to a VAR check but no penalty awarded.

Rarely do City and Liverpool supporters agree, but in this instance, both found it difficult to accept that Doku escaped punishment.

Following the draw, Arsenal maintains its position at the top of the standings, level on 64 points with Liverpool and slightly ahead of City on 63.
