Lewis Steele reported on X (formerly Twitter) that Curtis Jones has been ruled out of the upcoming Premier League match due to a minor muscle tweak.
Arne Slot, Jurgen Klopp’s successor, confirmed this ahead of the game against Thomas Frank’s side.
“He picked up a small injury during the week and missed a couple of sessions, so he won’t be available to play,” the 45-year-old manager stated on the club’s official website.
While it’s reassuring that Jones’s injury is minor, it does highlight a potential issue for the recruitment team, indicating that the current squad might not be enough to handle a packed fixture list this season.
This isn’t to say the market realities aren’t understood—finding the right player to genuinely improve the squad or add competition might not be as straightforward as fans hope.
We just hope Slot’s first season in charge at Anfield doesn’t suffer due to a possible lack of reinforcements this summer.
