The match ended in a 1-0 loss, with former Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi scoring the decisive goal in the 72nd minute. This marked a significant blow to Arne Slot’s side in their title pursuit.
Hudson-Odoi received the ball from Anthony Elanga and struck a brilliant shot past Liverpool’s goalkeeper, Alisson.
While some criticized Alisson for not attempting a save, commentator Gary Breen pointed out that Ibrahima Konate’s positioning played a crucial role in Nottingham Forest’s goal.
“Konate blocks Alisson’s view, preventing him from even trying to dive,” Breen said on Premier Sports 1 after Hudson-Odoi’s goal.
Konate’s positioning might further fuel doubts about his reliability, amid speculation that Slot isn’t fully confident in him as a regular starter.
