Kylian Mbappe has resumed playing for PSG, and it looks like the two sides have made amends. The Parisian club removed Mbappe from the first team at the start of the summer and assigned him to practice with the reserves. The club reportedly took these actions as a result of his refusal to have his contract with the squad renewed.
The circumstance, though, has changed. Mbappe has had a productive stretch with the team, scoring five goals in three contests. Coach Luis Enrique has confidence in Kylian, and the Frenchman has delivered by guiding his club back to win after a sluggish start to the season.
However, this raises a number of queries that remain unresolved. The Parisian team is aware that Kylian Mbappe did not extend his contract with them. His future is therefore yet undetermined. Fabrizio Romano and several international media sites claim that the club forbade Mbappe from playing if his contractual issues weren’t resolved.
Days passed, though, and the Frenchman eventually rejoined the group.
But it appears that ‘Donatelo’ may have gained some time with this arrangement.
Deal Mbappe signed with PSG
L’Equipe claims that Kylian Mbappe would have forgone some of his loyalty bonuses, which are said to be worth between $64 and $86 million and would have saved the team almost $100 million.
This might have provided a guarantee for the forward’s reintegration into the team, at least for this season.
