Manchester United is keeping a close eye on several players nearing the end of their contracts, aiming to strengthen their squad through smart free transfers and possible swap deals.

With the summer transfer window approaching, the club is prioritizing experienced, versatile, and high-caliber players who could make an immediate impact without major transfer fees.

One prominent name on their radar is Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey. If Arsenal decides against renewing his contract, United could step in, drawn by his strength, composure, and top-level experience—especially appealing as a free agent.

Another target is Southampton full-back Kyle Walker-Peters. Should Southampton face relegation, he could be available for free. His ability to cover both flanks adds depth and tactical flexibility to United’s back line.

In a bold, albeit unlikely, scenario, United is also monitoring Lionel Messi’s situation. If the Inter Miami star decides to return to Europe, the club would seriously consider making a move, recognizing the unmatched value he brings—even for a short-term stint.

Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina is also under consideration. While he has expressed interest in staying put, uncertainty around his contract could open the door for United to act. His defensive versatility makes him an affordable and practical choice.

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another possible addition. With his future at Goodison Park unclear, the 27-year-old could be snapped up on a free deal, offering depth and rotation alongside Rasmus Højlund up front.

United is also keeping tabs on Angel Gomes, a former academy talent now shining at Lille. If contract talks with the French club stall, a return to Old Trafford could be a possibility.

PSV’s Olivier Boscagli and Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell are also under evaluation. Boscagli’s solid defensive work and sharp passing make him a strong option at the back, while Mitchell’s dual-threat at left-back would strengthen United’s defense.

In a surprising development, Kevin De Bruyne has also emerged as a potential target. While he’s more likely to move to MLS, United is monitoring his status closely—should a rare opportunity arise to bring the Manchester City star to the red side of the city, they may be ready to pounce.
