Manchester United have reportedly initiated discussions with Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, one of the Premier League’s standout players this season, as they look to bolster their squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Following a disappointing season that ended with a 15th-place league finish and no European football, the Red Devils are eager to strengthen their attacking options.

Mbeumo, who scored an impressive 20 Premier League goals this season, is valued at around £50 million by Brentford.

With his contract running until next summer, a move away from the West London club seems plausible.

United see him as a potential partner for Amad Diallo in attack, addressing their struggles in scoring, having only outperformed the league’s lowest scorers this season.

Given their failure to qualify for the Champions League, United may focus on talents from clubs outside European competitions, with names like Ipswich’s Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha also linked with moves.

Mbeumo’s strong performances put him in elite company, with only Alexander Isak, Erling Haaland, and Mohamed Salah outscoring him this term.

The reported talks represent a positive step by INEOS and manager Ruben Amorim as they plan to rebuild the team after a challenging season.
