Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Nelson Semedo, according to FootballTransfers.

After losing the Europa League final, Manchester United will face the 2025/26 season without European football—a harsh blow following their lowest-ever Premier League points total.

The summer looks set for significant changes, with players like Alejandro Garnacho among those expected to leave.

While Ruben Amorim has shown he can get the best out of the team in Europe, it’s clear that a major squad overhaul is needed.

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha is poised to join Old Trafford, and recent reports suggest that one of his teammates might also make the move.

Semedo to Manchester United?

Available on a free transfer

FootballTransfers reports that Manchester United are keen on Nelson Semedo, describing him as a “wonderful” player.

The right-back, who joined Wolves from Barcelona in 2020 for £37 million, has a contract expiring this June, meaning he could be signed on a free transfer.

At 31, Semedo brings valuable Premier League experience and versatility, having played not only at right-back but also as a right midfielder and center-back during the 2024/25 season.

His leadership could prove vital for a young United squad.

Signing Semedo on a free transfer would be a smart move for the Red Devils as they look to rebound from a difficult season.

Additionally, Semedo shares an agent with Manchester United defender Leny Yoro, which might ease negotiations.
