In a “risky” decision, Man City “stopped” contract negotiations with a crucial player after the 32-year-old “rejected” Saudi offers.

Rumor has it that Manchester City has chosen to ‘risk’ entering into a contract agreement with Kevin De Bruyne, who is reportedly linked to Saudi Arabia.

This month, it was claimed that De Bruyne was one of many well-known athletes who declined a move to the Middle East during the summer transfer window, along with Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona.

The Belgian midfielder wants to continue his career with Manchester City, and The Sun reports that he will turn down any offers made in January and the following summer.

Since moving to the Premier League in 2015 for approximately £60 million from Wolfsburg, he has been among the league’s best players.

The transfer aroused some concerns after his terrible time at Chelsea, but any doubts were quickly allayed, and De Bruyne now boasts five Premier League champions’ medals in his impressive collection.

The 32-year-old’s contract could allegedly be extended by City until 2025.

However, it appears that De Bruyne’s injury problems are delaying the negotiations.

He will be out for a while after suffering a serious hamstring injury on the first weekend of the Premier League season.

De Bruyne’s contract renewal has also been “stopped” by the Cityzens, according to the Daily Star (via Fichajes).

Due to his ongoing injury, City will “slow down” negotiations and won’t resume talks until the midfielder has “completely healed.”

The source claims that this is a “risky move” given the Saudi Arabian interest and the fact that De Bruyne has lately been “tested by several clubs.”

De Bruyne is expected to make a comeback and be a crucial part of City’s quest for a fourth straight Premier League title.

De Bruyne is one of five City captains now that Ilkay Gundogan left the team in the summer, according to Kyle Walker, who was speaking prior to his team’s Champions League debut against Red Star Belgrade.

The five captains who have been picked will guide the team throughout the season and make sure that all checks and fines are paid, Walker continued.

It’s only me, Kevin, Rodri, Ruben (Dias), and Bernardo Silva; I don’t think the order matters.

“I’ve been very honored (so far), and it’s an honor to lead this special group of players out,” the player said.

I’ll keep doing that, and I’ll try to set an example for the team both on and off the field, so that we can win trophies at the end of the year.
