Steven Gerrard and Mohamed Salah share a touching moment after the Egyptian star hits the 250-goal milestone for Liverpool

Mo Salah has officially joined an exclusive group in Liverpool’s 133-year history, becoming only the third player ever to score 250 goals for the club. He reached this incredible milestone during Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.

While the goal itself wasn’t a spectacular one — coming from a mistake by Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez — it still marked a historic moment for the Egyptian forward.

The 33-year-old now stands alongside Liverpool legends Ian Rush and Roger Hunt, surpassing icons like Billy Liddell, Robbie Fowler, and Kenny Dalglish in total goals.

After the final whistle, Salah shared a touching moment with Steven Gerrard, who congratulated him with a warm hug and handshake while working as a pundit for TNT Sports. Former teammate Steve McManaman also joined in to celebrate the milestone.

The goal was a much-needed one for Salah, who had faced criticism following a six-game scoring drought. But the Egyptian looked back to his best at Anfield, tormenting Lucas Digne on the wing and putting in a strong all-around performance.

According to the Liverpool Echo, he earned an 8/10 rating, winning several duels, completing four dribbles, and creating key chances.

Though helped by Martinez’s error, Salah’s alertness and calm finish reminded fans of why he’s considered one of Liverpool’s all-time greats.

Now back in scoring form, he’ll look to continue his resurgence in upcoming clashes against Real Madrid and Manchester City — and perhaps add even more to his legendary goal tally.
