After officially confirming the arrival of Matheus Cunha, Manchester United have now turned their focus to securing Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo.
Although United have been actively pursuing Mbeumo in recent weeks, an agreement has yet to be reached. The player is reportedly keen on working with manager Rúben Amorim, but talks with Brentford have hit a standstill.
Mbeumo is seen as a great fit for Amorim’s tactical setup—likely operating behind the striker and potentially linking up with Cunha, who’s expected to play from the left.
However, with negotiations dragging on, there’s a chance another club, like Tottenham, could step in and finalize a deal.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano noted that Manchester United haven’t improved their offer since their initial bid was rejected over a week ago. He shared:
“Talks remain ongoing. We’re waiting to see if United will return with a new offer after their previous one, submitted 10 days ago, was declined.”
Meanwhile, United are reportedly back in the hunt for Fiorentina striker Moise Kean.
According to *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, the Red Devils have renewed their interest in the Italian international, who had previously drawn links to the Premier League.

This revived pursuit puts United in direct competition with clubs from Saudi Arabia, who are also eyeing the 25-year-old. A £45 million release clause, which becomes active from July 1–15, could make Kean a viable target.
Kean enjoyed a strong campaign last season with Fiorentina, scoring 25 goals in 44 appearances.
After a difficult stint with Everton earlier in his career, he has since rediscovered his form in Serie A, developing better positioning and sharpness in front of goal.
For Kean to flourish at United, a regular starting role may be necessary—something that could only happen if Rasmus Højlund is moved on or rotated more frequently.
While the Mbeumo deal faces delays, many believe United should broaden their approach. Pursuing both Mbeumo and Kean could give Amorim the depth and attacking flexibility needed to refresh the squad ahead of the new campaign.
