Several Liverpool players are facing uncertain futures at the club due to their contract situations. Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are all in the final year of their contracts, and their long-term status at Anfield has yet to be resolved.

While Liverpool hopes to retain these key players, they have left it too late to be in a strong position regarding their futures.

Salah has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League, and Real Madrid’s interest in signing Alexander-Arnold is no longer a secret.

The La Liga giants are reportedly eager to add Alexander-Arnold to their roster, joining high-profile signings like Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé.

Additionally, former Liverpool player Jan Molby has raised concerns about the future of two other players. He believes that both goalkeepers, Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher, could leave the club due to the arrival of Giorgi Mamardashvili.

The Georgian goalkeeper was signed in the summer and loaned out to Valencia but is set to join Liverpool next summer, potentially creating a challenge for Alisson and Kelleher’s positions.

In an interview with the Anfield Index, Molby explained, “Mamardashvili was clearly seen as good value for money, and it’s obvious they intend for him to become the first choice eventually.”

He suggested that Alisson might want to move on after achieving everything with Liverpool, while Kelleher may seek a move for more regular playing time, knowing he will return to the bench once Alisson is fit again.

Molby also noted that clubs like Chelsea and Spurs may be looking to improve their goalkeeping options, which could lead to opportunities for both Alisson and Kelleher. He added, “There’s a good chance that both our first and second choice goalkeepers could leave.”

With the arrival of Mamardashvili, Liverpool has clearly identified their long-term goalkeeper, which could lead to both Alisson and Kelleher seeking new challenges.

Along with the contract issues surrounding key outfield players, Liverpool could face a significant player turnover, prompting manager Arne Slot to rebuild the squad.
