It’s somewhat surprising that Liverpool decided to let the 21-year-old go after he showed promise during his summer opportunities.
Despite his struggles at Anfield, Carvalho’s determination to secure consistent playing time, rather than sit on the bench, is commendable.
Arne Slot, who utilized Carvalho on the left wing during pre-season friendlies, faced stiff competition for minutes as the new season approached.
The transfer fee of £20 million seems low, but considering Liverpool originally acquired him for just £5 million from Fulham, it represents a solid piece of business.
We can only wish the Portuguese under-21 international the best of luck in his future endeavors, hoping his next move proves more successful than his brief stint with RB Leipzig earlier in the last campaign.
