Real Madrid received devastating news tonight regarding star defender Militao after their victory over Osasuna. He is expected to be sidelined for five months.

Real Madrid may be leading 2-0 against Osasuna at halftime, but the game has been overshadowed by a series of injuries that have left manager Carlo Ancelotti deeply worried.

Despite the favorable scoreline, attention shifted when three players were injured, with central defender Eder Militao suffering the most serious setback.

Militao went down in the 26th minute, clutching his knee and visibly in severe pain, recalling teammate Dani Carvajal’s recent knee injury against Villarreal.

Militao’s injury appeared especially concerning, as he was unable to walk off the field, and the medical team had to bring a stretcher, suggesting a potentially severe condition.

Relevo reports that Real Madrid fears Militao may have sustained another anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear. If confirmed, this would be his second ACL injury in just 15 months, with the first occurring in August 2023 against Athletic Club.

Such a diagnosis would be a major setback not only for Militao but for Real Madrid, which has already experienced a notable number of similar injuries.

Since last season, six first-team players, including Militao, have suffered ACL injuries. Other key players affected include Thibaut Courtois, David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, and Joan Martinez, highlighting a concerning trend in the squad.

The spate of knee ligament injuries has raised questions about Real Madrid’s fitness and medical practices, especially as they continue to impact the team’s defensive line.

If Militao’s injury is indeed a second ACL tear, he could face an extended rehabilitation period. Recovery from ACL injuries can take several months, and this would likely add to the challenges facing Real Madrid’s defense.

The full severity of Militao’s injury will be confirmed after further medical assessments in the coming days, leaving the team and its supporters in suspense.

Losing Militao for an extended period would be a significant blow to Real Madrid’s defensive strength and stability.

Although Real Madrid currently leads against Osasuna, this injury is a concerning development that could affect the team throughout the season.
