Real Madrid are reportedly set to enter discussions about a potential transfer for Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, as his contract nears its end.
The England international has been a key player for Liverpool for many years, emerging as a standout from their academy.
However, it remains uncertain if he will remain a one-club player for much longer.
Alexander-Arnold’s current contract at Liverpool expires at the end of the season, allowing him to start negotiating with foreign clubs from January for a possible free transfer in the summer of 2025.
Journalist Ekrem Konur has reported that Real Madrid are planning talks to try and bring Alexander-Arnold to the Bernabeu, although it’s recognized that this won’t be an easy deal to secure.

However, Fabrizio Romano has suggested that Liverpool is still the player’s priority, as written in his Daily Briefing column.
While no decision has been made, it seems the 25-year-old may prefer to stay at Liverpool, although the club will likely need to present an attractive financial package and convince him of their future plans.
Alexander-Arnold has won both the Premier League and Champions League with Liverpool but has also experienced disappointments, including two Champions League final losses and two close calls in the league against Manchester City.
At this stage in his career, Alexander-Arnold may feel ready for a new challenge at a top European club like Real Madrid, which could be very appealing.
