A shocking report suggests that Marcus Rashford has requested a January departure from Manchester United, with three potential clubs – including a Premier League rival – being considered.
Rashford, 26, has struggled recently, managing only eight goals and four assists in his last 41 league games, a sharp drop from his impressive 17-goal, five-assist season in 2022/23.
According to the Spanish outlet *Nacional*, Rashford believes his dip in form is due to the lack of an “ambitious or stable project” at Old Trafford, prompting him to instruct his agent to pursue a January transfer.
Reportedly, Aston Villa, Napoli, and Marseille are interested in Rashford. Aston Villa would be a surprising choice, but the club has become a competitive force under Unai Emery and leads a revamped Champions League.
Napoli, Rashford’s likely destination, could reunite him with former teammates Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku, with manager Antonio Conte pushing for the transfer. The Serie A leaders would offer him a chance at league titles.
Marseille is reportedly the least likely option due to budget constraints, which could make meeting United’s demands challenging. However, a transfer would see Rashford join former United winger Mason Greenwood.
While the report’s reliability is unclear, *TEAMtalk*’s insider Fraser Gillan confirmed that a Rashford exit in 2025, or even as early as January, is plausible.
Additionally, clubs like PSG and Bayern Munich may express interest if given the opportunity, although United has yet to sanction his departure.
In other transfer news, United is reportedly considering a move to hijack Real Madrid’s pursuit of Alphonso Davies, who is in the final year of his contract.
