The striker Taiwo Awoniyi of Nottingham Forest recently talked about his long-held desire to play at Anfield, home of Liverpool.
Despite signing a contract with Liverpool in 2015, he was unable to play for his ideal team due to work permit complications.
He was loaned by Liverpool to a number of European teams until 2021, when Union Berlin acquired him permanently.
Awoniyi stated that he had always wanted to play for Liverpool, even if it meant going up against them while on the opposing team.
In retrospect, he said, “Playing at Anfield last season was a dream come true.” It was, of course, a mixed sensation to play there against Liverpool, as I had undoubtedly fantasized of playing there for them before I left.
With players like Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz, Mo Salah, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo at their disposal and all of them in fantastic form, Liverpool currently has a robust array of attacking alternatives.
