Saudi club Al-Hilal has reportedly made an official approach to Liverpool over a potential transfer for striker Darwin Núñez, while rising defender Jarell Quansah continues to attract interest from Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Al-Hilal contacted Liverpool on Monday to discuss the terms of a possible deal for Núñez.
Although Saudi interest has been rumored for months, this marks the first confirmed contact from a top Pro League club.
Núñez is thought to prefer remaining in Europe, with Spain and Italy seen as his preferred destinations. Atlético Madrid is monitoring the situation, though no formal offer has been submitted.
Earlier this year, Liverpool rejected a £59 million bid from Al-Nassr for Núñez, and that figure is expected to be the benchmark for any future negotiations.
With the club eyeing a high-cost move for Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz, selling Núñez could help finance incoming transfers.
Al-Hilal previously held talks with Núñez’s camp, reportedly offering a weekly wage exceeding £550,000. Liverpool chose not to engage at the time, prioritizing their on-field campaigns across four competitions.
Now, with the season concluded and the transfer window opening, the club appears more receptive to exploring options.
Meanwhile, Quansah remains firmly on Leverkusen’s radar. The 21-year-old’s rapid progress has caught the attention of the German side as they evaluate defensive reinforcements.
