Following a bold prediction made months ago, Michail Antonio, forward for West Ham United, has issued an apology to Liverpool players and fans.

In September, prior to a match against Liverpool at Anfield, Antonio confidently declared that West Ham would secure a victory and finish above Liverpool in the season standings.

However, reality unfolded differently as Liverpool emerged victorious in the match, demonstrating their dominance.

Antonio’s apology reflects a gesture of sportsmanship and humility, acknowledging the unpredictable nature of football and expressing regret for any disappointment caused by his earlier statement.

During an appearance on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Antonio had stated, “I am backing myself over Liverpool.

You know what, I think we are going to finish higher than Liverpool this season. I’m putting it out there.” He further added, “I don’t want Liverpool to win the league because you Liverpool fans are still in my inbox.

Get lost! I’m saying it with [my] chest. I don’t want Liverpool to win the league! Come for me! Arsenal get it. Man City, get it. That’s all I have to say about that!”
