Jurgen Klopp has cautioned Chelsea that his Liverpool team will give their all in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final, regardless of the available personnel.

Despite a scare against Luton Town on Wednesday, Liverpool managed to maintain their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

After falling behind to a shock lead from Chiedozie Ogbene in the 12th minute at Anfield, Liverpool remained behind for the first half. However, they emerged as a completely transformed side in the second half.

Virgil van Dijk’s header on 56 minutes kickstarted Liverpool’s comeback. Subsequent goals from Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, and Harvey Elliott secured a 4-1 victory, putting Liverpool four points clear at the top of the table and boosting their confidence ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea.

Klopp had to cope with a severely depleted squad on Wednesday, with nine key players sidelined due to injuries.

Despite the challenges, he expressed satisfaction with the performance of the young players who stepped up.

Looking ahead, Klopp acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding the availability of injured players for upcoming fixtures, emphasizing the need for a day-by-day approach given the unpredictable nature of the situation.

“Let’s wait and see. One thing remains certain: as long as we have eleven players, we will give it our all. That’s the only assurance I can provide.”

Regarding Chelsea, they are still monitoring the fitness of Carney Chukwuemeka (ankle) and Thiago Silva (groin) ahead of Sunday’s crucial clash with Liverpool.

Chukwuemeka sustained an ankle injury during training last week and was absent for the match against Manchester City on Saturday.

Silva, on the other hand, was substituted during the victory over Crystal Palace due to a groin issue and was subsequently unavailable for the draw against Manchester City.

Neither Chukwuemeka nor Silva participated in training at Cobham on Wednesday.

Chelsea continues to grapple with a significant injury list, with several players sidelined for the foreseeable future.

Benoit Badiashile, Marc Cucurella, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, and Lesley Ugochukwu are all unavailable for the upcoming final.
